Apologies To My Readers

I am afraid that my genealogy posts are going to be non-existent to very rare in the coming time period.

It was bad enough with covid putting a damper on research, but now my health has affected my output. In fact I haven’t done any real family history research for at least two years. But, I do have a lot of posts here on my blog that I have been able to research to enhance our family stories for everyone’s enjoyment.

Unfortunately, the incentive to continue with my research has declined a bit too. What with my father passing last year, my mother having dementia, and none of my siblings being really interested in our family history. I have a feeling that my nieces and nephews are of the same mind. It makes me fear for the family papers, letters and photos. Are they going to end up in the garbage? What a horrible thought.

I did decide to create an account at Permanent.org where documents and papers will be held forever with a donation. And I will do my best to get the research as organized as I can before things get too bad. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I have decided to keep our family’s research and/or documents in three places that should be relatively safe. Wikitree, FamilySearch.org and Permanent.org. It is the best I can do for future generations at this time. Unless someone else steps up to the plate to take continues research on.

  1. I just discovered your site, very interesting and informative for me. I have been researching the Rosa family. I am not related to them but I have a collection of letters that were copied into a notebook in 1863 and 1864. They were written by Florence Demont around 1896 became the wife of John Rosa. I found these letters in a bookshop in Lansing, Michigan around 1965. Long story but I recently turned my attention to them and I’m in the process of trying to write a book about her life.
